You can view my writeup of Tokyo DisneySea here. Tokyo DisneySea has many fine dining options in the park. The SS Columbia is one of them.
The SS Columbia was fun given its unique atmosphere as it made you feel like you’re stepping into the Titanic. Located in what is modeled after a huge ocean-liner in the American Waterfront port of DisneySea, the dining provides a unique experience and ambiance.
For the adults we all chose the Special Dinner course with the surf and turf main option that included roast beef and lobster tail for 5350yen (about $53 in the U.S.).
Probably the only thing disappointing thing was the bread offering, as it was not really memorable.
The appetizer was salmon tartare topped with marinated scallop and whole shelled shrimp. I really like the vegetables used as it was a succulent leaf that was crispy and refreshing. This was a tasty and nicely presented dish.
Next was a chilled corn soup topped with a gelatin consume and okra. This was corn perfection, as it’s corn-flavor overload in a bowl balanced by the umami goodness of the consume gelatin. The chilled soup adds a refreshing element and pairs well with the flavor of corn. The gold stars add a nice visual appeal.
The main course was a perfectly cooked roast beef and lobster tail. Both the lobster and beef were expertly done and cooked perfectly. Wish they had meals like this in the Los Angeles Disney.
Dessert was brought over and you get to pick two from a choice of Chocolate Brownie & Crushed Cookie, Mixed Berry Truffle, Peach & Maple Cookie, and Blue Jellied Dessert & Sherbet.
The kid’s meal consisted of a 3 course meal of with corn chowder soup, main course, and ice cream for dessert. The main course consisted of a big fried tempura whole shrimp, beef steak, and sausage.
Overall, the meal was good and the service was great at the SS Columbia. I made reservations by phone a couple of months beforehand, as I knew it was difficult to get a table for a party of six from our prior trip. In fact, I had to book two separate tables of three each, as their reservation system only had a max seating of four people. But once we arrived they sat us all together.
Another great option for dinner at Tokyo DisneySea that I rate even higher than SS Columbia is at Magellan’s, which is also in the park. You can read about our experiences here.
